George Eliot Hospital Charity Article - December 24/January 25
Creating Something Special Together
The George Eliot Hospital Charity (GEH Charity) was founded in 1996 with the aim of providing additional financial support to the George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust. Our mission is to enhance patient care for individuals and their families, fund essential equipment, and foster staff wellbeing through training and creating a positive work environment.
Every member of our hospital team is dedicated to delivering an outstanding patient experience, relying on the GEH Charity to fund initiatives beyond what the NHS budget can accommodate. We actively collaborate with individual supporters, local communities, groups, organisations, public partners, and corporate entities to raise funds for hospital projects that yield meaningful benefits for the residents of Nuneaton, Bedworth, North Warwickshire, Southwest Leicestershire, and Coventry. The resources we generate positively impact not only the patients and their families but also the 3,000 dedicated NHS staff working at the George Eliot Hospital.
In the past year, we completed the second year of our ambitious five-year strategy. Thanks to the hard work of our exceptional staff, supporters, and partners, we have achieved another successful year, significantly increasing our impact on the wellbeing of our patients, the wider community, and our workforce.
We recognise the power of collaboration, which is why partnering with corporations, community groups, and various funders will be a key component of our strategy for the year ahead. Additionally, we aim to diversify and expand our income streams, as it is through the generosity of our supporters that we can fulfil our aspirations.
We are thrilled to announce the Mayor of Nuneaton & Bedworth, Councillor Bill Hancox, and Lady Mayoress Sheila Hancox have chosen to support the George Eliot Hospital Breast Care Unit as part of the Mayor’s Appeal for 2024-2025. The Breast Care Unit combines the expertise of our consultants, nurses, doctors, and medical staff to deliver patient-centred care for individuals with breast health issues, including breast cancer. This unit offers a range of services and clinics dedicated to the needs of our local population.
Funds raised through the Mayor’s Appeal will contribute to acquiring new, life-changing, and potentially life-saving equipment, as well as providing wellbeing support for both patients and staff.
We invite you to join us in supporting the George Eliot Hospital Breast Care Unit team to ensure that we can continue to deliver the highest standard of care possible. Your contribution can make a real difference in the lives of those we serve.
