The Green, Linden Homes - February/March 22

Utility Bills Paid For A Year On Selected New Homes!

Following the recent rise in energy prices, local housebuilder Linden Homes is offering a well-timed and considered incentive designed to help buyers reduce anxieties around utility bills.

At The Green in Grendon, Linden Homes is offering to pay utility bills for a year on selected 3 and 4 bedroom homes, up to the value of £3,000. The Green is a collection of 2, 3 and 4-bedroom homes located close to the historic town of Atherstone.

In recent weeks, there has been an unprecedented rise in global gas prices, putting pressure on household energy suppliers. With potential further increases in utility bills on the horizon, Linden Homes is offering to help lift the burden from prospective home buyers of these rapidly inflating prices.

The energy regulator, Ofcom, protects customers on some tariffs from rising energy costs with a price cap, limiting how much firms can charge per unit of gas. However, the cap - which covers 15 million UK households - is adjusted every six months to reflect market prices. The most recent change came into force on 1st October 2021, resulting in a steep rise in utility bills.

The Home Builders Federation has found that new homes built in England and Wales are, on average, 65% more energy efficient than a Victorian house of the same style.

Nonetheless, the energy crisis is set to continue. Indeed, experts have warned that consumers can expect another steep hike in bills in April 2022, when Ofcom’s price cap is adjusted once again.

The Linden Homes utility bill incentive gives new homeowners peace of mind in their new home by giving a safety net should there be a further price cap adjustment in April 2022.
