Friendship Project for Children Raising £35K for 35 Years

The Friendship Project for Children, a local Warwickshire based charity, has been helping children in your community since 1986, making 2021 their 35th year. To help celebrate the incredible 35 year journey they are looking to raise £35,000, that’s £1,000 for every year they have been able to work with local children.

Life has been hard for everyone during the current pandemic. The Friendship Project has continued to work with children already supported by volunteer ‘Older Friends’ but they are always looking for new volunteers to help even more children with their increasing number of referrals.

The Friendship Project for Children operates throughout Warwickshire with the primary aim of helping children in need of some extra support. All children aged between 6 and 16 are referred to the charity through children’s social services and are then matched with an ‘Older Friend’ who takes them out and spends time with them for a few hours each week. Since the charity began in 1986 it has supported over 1500 local children and the outstanding work of the volunteers has made a huge difference to the self-esteem of children in your local community.

They work throughout Warwickshire, as far north as Polesworth and as far south as Shipston-on-Stour, also covering Rugby and Coleshill and all the areas in between. They are asking if you can help them to continue supporting young people and reach their target of £35,000. Did you know that £35 will help pay for three outings for one of the Younger Friends? Every £1 raised will make a huge difference and help them towards their grand total.

Their children say, “I really like going out with my Older Friend because we have loads of fun and we go out on our bikes. He’s great,” and, “He’s super kind and we go lots of great places together.

Help them to help more children have these wonderful experiences. Could you help them to raise £35,000? How about a sponsored event? Not only will you be helping towards the target, but you will be promoting the charity in your local community.
