The group was formed to give writers who are serious about being published a chance to meet for encouragement, support and to share market news and publishing opportunities. Children's charity delivering dedicated mentoring to Schools across the West Midlands, working with distressed and vulnerable children to improve engagement, attendance, behaviour, relationships, performance, self-esteem and confidence. We provide fully trained volunteer Mentors to support and listen to referred pupils. The Society was founded in 1981 and from September to June hosts monthly public meetings on the first Monday of the month (excluding Bank Holidays) with a guest speaker presenting an illustrated talk on an historical topic relevant to the local surrounding area. We meet at the Old Meeting United Reform Church, Leicester Street, Bedworth at 2.30pm and refreshments are served after the meeting. On 6th June the talk is “Watch Making in Coventry”.
